The Information and Research Centre for Mongolian Landscape Studies (MOLARE Research Centre (MRC)) is an offical scientific Institute of the National University of Mongolia. The organization and the structure of the Research Centre (MRC) is organized by the Faculty of Earth Sciences and the Faculty of Biology.
The main task of the MOLARE Research Centre (MRC) is to make interdisciplinary research work in the fields of the interactions of geo- and bio-sphere with the focus of climate change. An important aspect focuses on applied basic research of natural resources (forest, steppe, desert) and on human impact on Mongolian landscape development.

Basic research of the management of natural resources in the subjects of climate, vegetation, soil, water and relief

Monitoring and assessment of men made and natural lanscapes and their use

Applied environmental research focused on an ecological adapted, sustainable use of natural resources (environmental load studies)
Paleoclimate, paleoecological and paleolimnological research of the younger section of earth history (Holocene and Pleistocene)

Paleoclimate data bases with international links

Master students are trained at the MOLARE Research Centre (MRC) in order to be prepared for the profession of an environmental expert.
